We would love to talk with you about training or mental health services. We have worked with a variety of programs and people and we look forward to getting to know you.
Compassion Endurance Training with Kate and Doctor Katy
What does it take to have a long, healthy career in the animal services field? In this training, we will discuss the perils and pearls to be found in a animal caring career. We'll share ways to cope with the many emotions, thoughts, and reactions that accompany helping and healing animals.
This is a training for new and experienced professionals who may be experiencing burnout, happily coasting along, or just starting out. Each participant will find something that will help them work towards having a career that is as nurturing and sustaining as the care they give to the animals and communities they support.
We offer this training in multiple settings: shelters, veterinary practices, animal welfare offices, and other animal related programs.
Special consultations may be arranged as needed.
Please contact us for rates and references. When our budget allows, we discount for independent shelters/rescues who are unable to pay our full fee.
Confidential Short Term counseling for Veterinary and Animal Welfare Professionals
Telephone and video counseling/coaching with Kate Davis are available for people whose work with animals has led to emotional overload and discouragement. When appropriate a referral to long term therapy can be made. Cash or card only, with a sliding scale based on ability to pay.
Since veterinarians are often reluctant to seek help, please know that you can confidentially contact Kate Davis, LCSW at 503-265-9390 or at katedavis@katedavismsw.com
